Hotel Kittyfornia
While watching Rob & Big, I got jealous because of their new adorable mini horse and looked to see how much they were. You can get a mini horse for only $650! They are so cute.

I got my hair cut today.

The boutique I work at sells JC de Castelbajac - French designer who makes pop art and hip hop inspired sportswear. I found this youtube vid, "Hotel Kittyfornia"

Miss Japan wins Miss Universe 2007

I know I know, my sister made me watch it. We wanted Miss Korea to win but then we looked at how terrible her dress was and her "final question" response was honestly retarded. Besides, Miss Japan was wearing the cutest Gucci dress and was definitely crazy walking down the stage - well, confident. Like she was doing it for fun and she didn't care whether she won or not. Plus, Dave Navarro and Nina Garcia were judges. They want to see something much more modern.

My Blueberry Nights

I don't like Natalie Portman that much but My Blueberry Nights looks good...definitely a story Wong Kar-Wai has done and done, but I think his intention is to bring his style to an American mainstream audience without taking a risk on a story he doesn't know well enough. He knows this classic romance story like the back of his hand, but the cast is full of strangers. Heartbroken girl (Norah Jones, who is SO cute) meets heartbroken boy (Jude Law, pretty and a good actor). They have an adventure and meet interesting characters (Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz, and possibly Chan Marshall) who also have a complicated life story. The only thing that I fear is that he'll start writing American films and cease writing films starring Maggie Cheung and Tony Leung. The preview for the film features a Cat Power song.

I have to admit Wong Kar-Wai became my favorite filmmaker after Chungking Express, which is my favorite film. I've never been so obsessed over a filmmaker. The best way I can describe him is with three words: Long Seductive Shots.

Well right now I am waiting for my sister. She lost her house keys and has her two best friends over for the weekend from Michigan so I have to wait for them to get home so I can let them in and go hang out. One is preggerz and one is getting married. You can only imagine the amount of wedding and baby blabber. I was going to drive her car to pick them up but then I found out she forgot to leave the parking ticket behind. My sister is truly absentminded at times.

Moving out of the apartment from her should be great.

Hi frankie.

yes.
Saks Fifth Avenue is getting their own zip code for their shoe salon which will take up an entire floor and have at least 10,000 shoes. This is the first time the USPS has issued a zip code with an alphabetical ending or for a floor of a freakin' building. 10022-SHOE is the zip.

Today I obtained an internship position at a new small boutique called Armadio...it's a high-end boutique that only sells clothing from France or Italy. They just opened up but right now they have Moschino, Emanuel Ungaro, and Costume National. There is a possibility that she will take me on for a part-time sales position. I hope so, because I am so broke right now.

In other news, I joined the writing program at my school. Kind of weird. I'm going to art school to study writing.

I bought some more cassettes today. All the queens in my neighborhood are giving away their 80's tapes. But the real gem I found was this "Thai Northeast Indigenous Music" tape. I don't know what the band or the album is called because it's all written in Thai or Siamese. I have no idea. It's fun indigenous party music. I bet my favorite thai restaurant which is just across the street gave up this awesome tape. TAKE ME TO THAILAND....

Lazy.

Last night I felt the summer breeze at the beach. A group of kids and a bunch of bikes resting on the ground on the pier at the lake. Couples having romantic dates, sitting on the edge looking at the night sky. I felt restless and wanted to ruin the romantic dates so I jumped into it holding hands with a girl. I ended up letting out a blood curdling scream right before I hit the ice cold water. My limbs went numb. My left contact lens shifted. Michael jumped in all of his clothes after us. The breeze was half warm, half cool. It felt amazing.

We left and I was taken to a secret garden. Kind of Edward Scissorhands-ish but it had some weird sculptures that you could climb on. So we just sat in this secret garden and listened to a little pink radio.

This is exactly how I want to spend my entire summer.

Best of Craigslist
This post about finding a "Starter Wife" is too good. I saw commercials for Debra Messing's new tv show and wanted to know what a Starter Wife was. The term is derived from a Starter Marriage, which is a marriage that lasts less than five years and you don't have kids so it sort of "starts" you out in life only to get married later on to your "real" marriage. There's a whole book about it that I'd like to read.

I also liked this very recent Chicago-area based posting simply titled, "Let us frolic in my totally dope blanket fort"...

For more Best of Craigslist, go here.

Speaking of books...today's guest on The Daily Show was Reza Aslan, who was promoting his new book No God but God and is probably the hottest Iranian-American I've ever seen. Although I'm not sure being hot means your book is good, I may just read it.
'08 Elections
My older sister, whom I live with and is quite ignorant (especially when it comes to politics) asked me yesterday,

"If Hilary Clinton becomes president, does that make Bill Clinton the First Man?"

Why yes, my little dumb-dumb dumpling. Yes it does.

Priapus
While looking through Wikipedia, I fell upon an interesting article which is not uncommon when I'm on a Wiki spree. Sometimes I really appreciate the things I learn from Wikipedia, and sometimes it just plain disturbs me.

I came upon a rather strange condition called Priapism, which is basically when a hard dick can't go soft (within about 4 hours). It may seem like a blessing but it's actually a painful medical emergency that needs to be treated immediately. The story of the "minor rustic fertility" greek god the condition was named after just made me laugh and cringe at the same time.

"The name comes from the god Priapus, referring to that god's most notable attribute: ironically and pertinently one version of the Priapus myth has Priapus punished by the gods for attempting to rape a goddess by being given a huge but useless set of wooden genitals. The female counterpart of this condition is known as clitorism."

Here is a painting of Priapus and his gigantic penis. He is weighing his penis against a bag of money. Guess which one is heavier?

The NBA
Bulls suffer second straight blowout loss to Pistons
If you know me well then you'll know that I like watching basketball. But only if it's the finals and it's the Pistons playing. I'm the kind of person that doesn't watch a trilogy until they make a DVD box set. No matter how hard my brain tried to reject sports, the sports-obsessed people around me would not let me. So I caved (or perhaps, was brainwashed) and this is my contribution...to the world of athletes. Thank you, for your rippling muscles and superhuman abilities.

I will now get fat from beer and buffalo wings and watch tv.

I am now back in Chicago, my current home turf. I spent most of my short vacation re-considering my future in Chicago. Regardless, I've found that where I am and what I'm doing right now isn't really what I want. I spent some time with my good friend Christine, getting food as usual. I saw Jeff who moved back from Boston and hadn't seen in years, and we had a long conversation until 4am at Zak's (diner). Saw some kids I went to high school with, talked about ex-friends who are fucked up. I spent most of the nights with my boyfriend.

It was nice.

In my old room.

Floods of memories both good and bad when I'm here. Today was a terrible day, resulting in this migraine I have right now. This isn't my home anymore and I need to realize that.

Thinking of moving away, as far as London.

The road ahead.

I'm at some party and I'm drunk

Ypsilanti with bo, chris & johnny
Mom and my stepdad Dan

My stepdad is a Republican so you can only imagine the arguments we have during dinner. In this picture he is scowling at me because I'm taking a picture. He is a very stubborn and ignorant man, yet he's quite funny...today he came into the house loudly singing some pop alternative song he heard on the radio. He said "If I had an ipod I could listen to this stuff but I don't have one and even if I did I wouldn't know how to work the damn thing." I laughed and told him it's because he's old. He just nodded.

Later, he tried to tell me why he thinks there is only a 5% population of gay people in our nation. I just laughed and told him why that wasn't true and am always amazed at how steadfast he remains of his opinions. I won't even bother telling him that I'm voting for the liberals next year because he'll realize that his own stepdaughter is vetoing his vote. He's an atheist and pro-choice. He just loves his guns too much.
